Extension data (local-only)

Chrona stores browsing metadata — tab URLs and tab titles — locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This data supports session resume and is not uploaded to Chrona servers.

Note: URLs and titles can contain sensitive information depending on the sites you visit. Chrona records metadata only — no page content, keystrokes, form data, or screenshots.

You can delete all locally stored data at any time from the extension settings.

Usage stats

Usage counters (for example, how many times you have used session resume) are stored locally only and are never transmitted to Chrona or any third party.

Export / import backups

The export feature downloads a JSON backup file directly to your device. Backup files may include full URLs from your recorded sessions.

The Hide URL parameters option removes query strings (the ?key=value part) before export. It does not remove URL paths or page names.

Streamer mode

Streamer mode hides session names and domains in the extension popup and disables the backup export buttons. It is intended to reduce accidental leaks of browsing context while screen recording or streaming.

Waitlist (this website)

When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and any optional fields you fill in. This data is stored in Google Sheets and is used only to contact you about Chrona updates and launch announcements.

To request deletion of your waitlist data, email us at support@chronaapp.com with the subject line Delete my data and we will remove your entry.
